A Prescott woman was arrested last week in Hempstead County after motorists reported almost hitting her as she walked in the roadway.

Tammy Shillings, 46, was walking south in the 3700 block of Highway 29 South around 7:43 p.m. on Sunday, December 30th when Hempstead County Central Dispatch received several calls from drivers reporting they had almost hit her as they passed her.

Deputy Freddie Parks arrived at the scene and reported that Shillings stumbled as she approached him on the side of the road.

When Parks checked Shillings for arrest warrants he discovered she had an outstanding warrant for Failure to Comply in Hempstead County and another warrant in Pike County.

Shillings was charged with Public Intoxication and taken to the Hempstead County Detention Facility.
