Bro. Jerry Lee Hargrave

Bro. Jerry Lee Hargrave was born on April 19 1937 in Greenville, Texas to his late parents, Lee Roy Hargrave and Della Louise Myre Hargrave.  Jerry graduated from Farmersville High School.  While attending school, he participated sports, playing football for the “Farmers”.  Jerry married Margie Beth White on June 1, 1957 in Josephine, Texas.  Together they raised their three sons, Richard Russ, David Dan and Jerry Joseph.

Bro. Jerry had a close relationship with the Lord and he received his Doctorate in Theology from the Mid-America Theological Center.  After receiving his degree, he went on to minister in several churches in Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana and Missouri. Jerry and the family moved often in order for him to spread the word of the Lord.  He even traveled to Mexico to minister there.   He studied the Bible daily and revealed in being able to bring people to Christ.

After Margie’s passing in May 2010, Jerry continued to pastor.  That was where he met his future wife, Brenda.  After Jerry and Brenda married they moved to Hope, Arkansas to minister at a church there.

Bro. Jerry was a man of God and a family man.  He was a good husband, a good father and grandfather, friend and a teacher of the Gospel.  Jerry is survived by his wife, Brenda Hargrave of Hope, Arkansas; his sons, Richard Russ Hargrave and wife, Linda, David Dan Hargrave and wife, Jill and Jerry Joseph Hargrave and wife, Mendy, and a special person he referred to as his adopted daughter, Paula Rice; step children, Becki Smith and Brent Ratton and wife, Jo; his grandchildren, Seth Aaron Hargrave and wife Diana, Micah Lee Hargrave and husband, Ryan, Stewart David Hargrave, Austin Lee Hargrave and wife, Danielle, Ashley Denise Hargrave, Kyle Kristen Hargrave, Hunter Vance and Garret Vance; step grandchildren, Brock Ratton and wife, Emilee, Ainslee Lee and husband, Brian, Branson Smith and Kolton Kidd, Shea Ratton Ratliff and husband, Forrest and Dustin Ratton; great grandchildren, Landyn Lee Hargrave, Race Rylie Hargrave and Rhett Wilder Hargrave, step great grandchildren, Bryson Lee and Addison Ratton; sisters-in-law, Loise Hargrave and Frances White and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Bro.Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Roy and Della Hargrave, his first wife, Margie Beth Hargrave and brothers, Richard Hargrave and James Earle Hargrave.

Visitation for Bro. Jerry will be Friday, March 3, 2017 from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at Allen Funeral Home 508 Masters Ave Wylie, TX.  Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at the Cornerstone Baptist Church 307 North First Street in Wylie, Texas. Deacon Dan Truitt and Pastor Justin Wheeler will officiate the service.  Bro. Jerry will be buried at the Nevada Cemetery in Nevada, Texas.
