HOPE – The Hempstead County Sheriff Office Seeks Information on three persons missing in Hempstead County.

These persons have been reported missing over the past five years from Hempstead County. The Hempstead County Sheriff’s office is investigating the disappearance of Casey Clark now 36 of Fulton, 58-year-old Joseph Christopher Cowart of Hope, and Most recently Madeline R. Tomlin, age 24, at the time of her disappearance in May of 2015.

Clark and Cowart was reported missing to the Hempstead County Sheriff’s Office in March and May of 2012. Tomlin was reported missing in May of 2015. Investigators from the HCSO and detectives from the Hope Police Department continue to work on the cases chasing down leads without much results and Sharing information on all three cases.

The purpose of this release is to seek help from anyone who may have information about these Hempstead County Citizens. Clark is described as approximately 5’6” tall, weighing approximately 175 pounds, black hair, brown hair. Dark complexioned African American Male. It is unknown the type clothes Clark was wearing or his direction of travel

On Friday March 30, at approximately 2 p.m. hours Melvin Clark reported his 31-year-old son Casey Clark missing. Melvin stated no one had heard or seen Casey Tuesday March 27, 2012. Mr. Clark stated that Casey was staying with a friend at Amandex Apartments and left in that car which was later found at the Boll Weevil Liquor store in Fulton (Miller County). Mr. Clark stated that Melvin also left his wallet in the friend’s apartment.

Highway 174 South

Hope

Hempstead County Investigators are seeking any information on the whereabouts of 58-year-old Joseph Christopher Cowart of Hope who has not been seen or heard of since Tuesday May 15, 2012.

On May 15, 2012 deputies were dispatched to 3096 Highway 174 south in reference to Cowart’s uncle not being able to make contact with his nephew, who is described as a white male, 6’ tall, 195 lbs., brown hair, and brown eyes. Unknown clothing.

Upon arrival Deputies met with Cowarts uncle. Who stated that he hasn’t talked to his nephew, Joseph Christopher Cowart since Tuesday, May 15, 2012.

The uncle said that he went to his residence located at 3096 highways 174 south around 1730 hours, knocked on his door and got no answer. He said that he left the residence and returned home to attempt to contact Christopher by telephone.

The uncle said that Christopher’s truck was still parked under the carport, and the doors to the house and truck were locked. The uncle entered the house and observed that Christopher was not in it. And they walked around the yard and checked the buildings around the house but he was nowhere to be found. The uncle said that he talked to Christopher daily and it was not like him not to call him back when he called.

Cowart has been entered in NCIC/ACIC as a missing person.

As of March 28, 2017, The Hempstead County Sheriff’s office has not received any further information on Cowart’s whereabouts.

Madeline R. Tomlin is described as being 5-5, weighing 115 pounds, with brownish red hair and green eyes. She was last seen in the Hope area on the evening of Wednesday, May 20, 2015. She was possibly wearing light blue cotton pants and a white or cream colored top. Tomlin is now thinner than she appears in the photo. She has a butterfly tattoo on her foot, the name “Cash” on her ankle, and a horseshoe on her shoulder.
