Arkansas Welcome Center Hosts “Arkansas Tourism Week” Activities

TEXARKANA – The Arkansas Welcome Center on I-30 in Miller County held activities this week (May 8-12th) for Arkansas Tourism week.

The Center played host to a wide variety of entertainment including such groups as Hope’s Hempstead County Melody Boys. Various antique car clubs brought their classic vehicles and the Texarkana Twins baseball team participated.

Many area attractions manned booths including the President William Jefferson Clinton Birthplace National Historic Site, White Oak Lake State Park, Historic Washington State Park, the Rick Evans Grandview Prairie Conservation Education Center and Cossotot State Park.

Texarkana, Arkansas Mayor Ruth Penney-Bell was on hand to proclaim “National Tourism Week” in Texarkana, Arkansas. Many Arkansas products were showcased including Westrock Coffee and Diamond Bear Root Beer.

The Welcome Center is managed by Hempstead County resident Melissa Adams.
