Mrs. Ruth Stokes

IMG_1700Ruth Ingram Stokes, age 95 of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away May 5, 2017. She was a lifelong resident of Prescott, Arkansas up until the last ten years of her life. Ruth was a strong Christian lady who shared her faith with all around her. She loved Jesus, her family, and the Razorbacks. She was a model of true hospitality, kindness, and service to all. She dearly loved, and was a lifelong member of Central Baptist Church of Prescott where she served in many capacities, especially as a Sunday School teacher for many, many years. She has left a legacy of love to her family and friends. She also served as president of the Business and Professional Women’s Club of Prescott. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Virgie Ingram, husband Milton Stokes, son Robert Lynn “Bobby” Stokes, and twin sister Ruby May.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Safronia Stokes Martin and husband David of Mountain Home, Arkansas, two grandsons: Shannon Stokes and wife Traci of Dover, Arkansas, Russell Stokes and wife Kristie of Jonesboro, Arkansas, four great grandchildren: Zoe, Ellie, Jackson, and Wyatt Stokes, and a great grandson Finn Stokes on the way, a nephew Jerry May and wife Janis of Prescott, niece Susie Terrell of Hot Springs, and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

 

Memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church of Prescott, Arkansas or for memorial Bibles through Gideon’s International.

 

Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at the Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home 1196 Hwy. 371 West Prescott, Arkansas.

 

Funeral service will be held at the Central Baptist Church of Prescott at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 8, 2017 with Bro. Tom Mitchell and Bro. Perry Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Prescott, Arkansas. Arrangements are by BRAZZEL/Cornish The Funeral Home of Prescott, Eddie BRAZZEL, Director.
