PHS boys take state track title

UPDATE: Prescott’s senior boys took the AAA state track meet, while the girls title went to Genoa Central.

PRESCOTT – Schools from across Arkansas came to Prescott Tuesday for the AAA State Track Meet.

Normally, several state records fall during this meet, which features the best of the best in high school thinclads. Field events were held Tuesday morning, with the running events held in the afternoon. Several of the athletes took advantage of the lag time to catch up on sleep or visit with competitors from different schools. Fans set up shade tents in the bleachers so they could watch the meet without getting sunburned.

The meet also brought an influx of visitors to Prescott, which helps the local economy.
