Sister Norma Christopher

Sister Norma Christopher was born to Cuffus Williams and Ionia Blanks Williams on April 18, 1937. On the morning of April 26, 2017 in Irving, Texas, she was called to her heavenly home.
Norma was an active member of New Seminary AME Church. She served faithfully as a steward, trustee, and choir member.
Norma was married to Raymond Christopher, they were the parents of five children; two preceded her in death, Joyanne Yarbrough (Julio), Randell Christopher (Corliss); a devoted husband, Raymond Christopher; a beloved granddaughter, Normeshay T. Christopher; her parents, Cuffus and Ionia Williams and a sister, Esther J. Christopher.
Norma Christopher was a dedicated worker and once she retired, she was a devoted grandmother.
Her legacy will love on through her children, Dr. Larry Christopher (Joyce) of Rockwall, TX, Joyce Cooksie (Kenny) of Irving, TX, Carolyn Shaw (Anthony) of Knoxville, TN; 12 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; one brother, Elias Williams; and a delightful sister, Rosie Williams (Lennie); a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:30am Saturday, May 6 at St. Stephens Baptist Church, 111 North Smith Street, Stephens. Burial will be at New Seminary Cemetery in Stephens. Arrangements entrusted to Hicks Funeral Home, Inc.
