Band Directors To Be Introduced

HOPE – The directors of the instrumental music program of the Hope Public Schools will be introduced during a Meet the Directors Night at the Hope High School band hall Thursday evening.
The 7 p.m. program is open to any grades five through 12 Hope Public Schools student interested or already in the Bobcat Bands program, according to Julie Gladden, director of bands.
Students and their parents will have an opportunity to meet Gladden, Yerger Middle School Band Director Brandon Ellis; Kathryn Rose, assistant band director; and, Jesse Osorto, assistant band director.
Gladden said the marching season summer rehearsal schedule will be discussed, as will student/parent opportunities and expectations in the bands program. The summer marching band schedule begins July 18-20 with leadership team training.
Uniform fittings will be completed July 21 from 8-9:30 a.m. for freshmen; 9:30 – 11 a.m. for sophomores; 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. for juniors; and, 1-2:30 p.m. for seniors, according to Gladden.
Full band summer marching rehearsals begin July 31.
Gladden also announced an Aug. 3 Beginner Band Night for students in grades five through eight who have never participated in the band program. That meeting is set for 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. in the Hope High School band hall.
Beginner students will have an opportunity to find out which instrument they would like to learn, and what is required of students and parents in the Bobcat Bands program, Gladden said.image
