Mr. John Henry Ogden

Mr. John Henry Ogden was born April 7, 1942 to Willie Matthew and Cleola Ann Davis Ogden in Washington, Arkansas.  A family with a lot of love to give, John Henry was one of ten children born to their union. 
 
At an early age, he accepted our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ as his savior at St. Paul Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Washington.  Later, he united with Mt. Zion CME Church in Hope, Arkansas.  He was an active and faithful member, serving on the usher board and with the male chorus.  A diligent servant of the Lord, John Henry was also a dedicated employee.  He worked at the Hempstead County Farmer’s Association for 53 years, where he worked as a Truck Driver.
 
On Tuesday, July 4, 2017, the Lord released John Henry from his earthly body and welcomed him to his eternal home.  Family preceding John Henry in death are his sons, Calvin and Stanley O’Neal Ogden; siblings, Wilma J. Carrigian, Willie M. Ogden Jr., Lillian M. Ogden, Leon B. Ogden and Velma J. Pace.
 
Left to cherish his memories are his devoted wife, Eloise Ogden; loving children, Johnnie Marie Dixon (James) of Hope, AR, Jacqueline Elaine Ogden of Durham, NC, Julie Hopson (Antonio) of Lawton, OK; grandchildren, Porsche’ Ogden of Dallas, TX, Darious Robinson of Lawton, OK, Jamia Dixon of Hope, AR, Keely Ogden of Durham, NC and Aaliyah Hopson of Lawton, OK. Three sisters Cleaster L. Bailey (Harry) of Los Angeles, CA, Christine Ogden of Washington, AR, Barbara R. Walker of Washington, AR; one brother and best friend, James B. Ogden (Shirley); and one sister in law Betty Ogden (Leon) of Hope, AR as well as a host of relatives and special friends.
Funeral services will be 11am Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Rising Star Baptist Church, 1002 Beech Street, Hope.  Burial will be at Scott’s Memorial Gardens in Perrytown.
