FOWLER, LOUISE

Mrs. Louise Fowler, age 93 of Hope, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2017, at her home. She was born in McCaskill, Arkansas on October 27, 1923 to William Thomas and Vera Blakely Barber. She was a retired telephone operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone for over 35 years and a member of Friendship United Methodist Church in McCaskill. Mrs. Fowler has served on the Ways and Means Committee in Washington, D.C., Union President for the Communication Workers for the State of Arkansas for 9 years and co-owner of B&L Exterminating Company for over 30 years, however her most favorite hobby was working in her garden.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, William Thomas and Era Blakely Barber, her husband of 57 years, Bill Fowler, a daughter; Shirlene Willet, brother; Martin Barber, three sisters; Estell Parker, Pauline Biven and Junita Chunn, two grandchildren and one great-grandchildren, Kenneth.

 

Survivors include; son William Charles Fowler, wife Genie of Hope, daughter; Pat Bennett of Hope, three brothers; William Jappy Barber of Bodcaw, Gerald Barber, wife, Barbara of McCaskill, Jesse Carl Barber, wife, Marla of Palestine, Texas, eight grandchildren: Bill Fowler Jr, Duane Willet, Donny Bright, Kim Bohon, Treasa Jester, Laura Lewis, Dawn Trout and Debbie and 21 great-grandchildren, numerous great-great grandchildren and other family members and friends.

 

Visitation is 2:00 to 4:00pm on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at BRAZZEL/Oakcrest Funeral Home 1001 South Main Hope, AR.

 

Funeral is 2:00pm on Monday, July 17, 2017 at BRAZZEL/Oakcrest Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Ross and Bro. Glen Tropp officiating. Burial to follow in Friendship Cemetery in McCaskill.
