Plans shaping up for Fall Festival

PRESCOTT – Plans are shaping up for the annual Fall Festival.

This year’s festival will be held on Oct. 14 at the Nevada County Courthouse. It will be an all-day event, starting with the 5K color run/walk at 8 a.m. However, runners need to show up at 7 a.m. to check in.

There will be six age divisions: 0-9; 10-14; 15-19; 20-29; 30-39;  40-49; and 50 and up . Participants will line up at Mac’s Home and Tire across from the Nevada County Jail. Early bird registration closes at 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 6. Those who sign up early will pay a $25 entry fee and get a t-shirt. Late registration will cost $30. Packets can be picked up at the Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce office Oct. 11-12 from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

The festival will also include a “shootout” for “hot shot” and “free throw” as part of the Calvin Brown 3-on-3 basketball tournament. The entry fee is $20 per person. Age divisions are: K-6 and 7-12 for boys and girls. Pre-registration is required to participate and participants will receive a t-shirt. The deadline to enter is Oct. 6 at 4:30 p.m.

A Yeti hopper will be raffled off, with the winners named at the festival on Oct. 14. Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20. Tickets can be bought at the Chamber office or from any member of the Chamber board. The hopper is valued at $299.99.

Jason Helms will be the featured performer at this year’s festival.
