McMorris charged with residential burglary, possession

HOPE – Cody McMorris, 28, of Hope, was arrested on Sept. 18, and charged with felony residential burglary.

According to a release from the Hempstead County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), while placing McMorris under arrest, deputies noticed a clear zip lock bag containing a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana sitting next to his phone. The bag was seized as well. While searching McMorris, deputies reportedly found what appeared to be a homemade marijuana pipe in his right front pocket.

He was taken to the Hempstead County Detention Facility where he was charged with residential burglary, possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held awaiting his first court appearance.
