EXPO 015PRESCOTT – Thursday night’s holiday expo, sponsored by the Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce, was a success.

Several local businesses set up booths to showcase what they have available, not only for the holidays, but throughout the year. While the event was scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m., patrons were checking out the booths before then, and continued until 7 p.m. when it ended. Visitors to the event also had the chance to register for a myriad of door prizes, with many taking advantage of the opportunity on the off chance they were a lucky winner.

Those attending visited the different booths, examining what was there and questioning the business owners and representatives about any new merchandise that may arrive prior to Christmas. Patrons didn’t have to leave hungry, either, as Casa Carlos prepared guacamole and offered chips and salsa to help stave off hunger pangs, as well as to showcase what’s offered at the restaurant.

Jamie Hillery, executive director of the Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce, said there will be some major changes in next year’s expo, with one of the changes being a possible new locale. Overall, though, the patrons and business owners/representatives, went away with a good idea about what’s available locally for the upcoming holiday season. The expo also showed how many gifts can be purchased without having to leave Prescott and risk life and limb on the highways and interstates going elsewhere.
