Mr. J.B. Martin

Mr. J.B. Martin, age 91 of Hope, Arkansas passed away, Tuesday, February 6, 2018 in a local nursing home.  Mr. Martin was born on January 15, 1927 in Spring Hill, Arkansas to Joe Martin and Bertha Brunson. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Hope, where he had served as an Usher for over fifty years. He had served his country by enlisting in the United States Army and served during the Korean War. Mr. Martin was a self-employed brick layer for many years. He is preceded in death by his parents and a great-grand-daughter Savannah Grace.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Margaret Martin of Hope, daughter Tina Burke (Bo) of Hope, a sister Geraldine Shelton of Beaumont, TX, three grandchildren Chad Burke (Rachel) of Brighton, TN, Josh Burke of Cordova, TN and Allison Burke Lee (Glenn) of Hope and seven great-grandchildren: Emily, Brad, Taylor, Wrigley, Hayden, Curry and Keely.

In lieu of flowers memorial can be made to the First Baptist Church 401 Main St. Hope, AR 71801 or to St. Jude Hospital in Memphis, TN.

Visitation will be 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at BRAZZEL/Oakcrest Funeral Home 1001 South Main in Hope.

A private burial will be at a date to be announced.
