Patmos Road/Hempstead 3 Open To Through Traffic

HOPE – After several days of being closed to through traffic, Patmos Road/Hempstead 3 is once again open, albeit temporarily. NO 18-wheelers are allowed on it at this time.

Heavy rains this spring and summer had undermined a section of the road in the 4200 block of the road.

According to Hempstead County Judge Haskell Morse, a Hazard Mitigation Assistance Grant for $300,000 has been applied for and once received, will be used for several sections of this road. The culverts at this particularly spot will be replaced with a flat-deck bridge.

While the area has been repaired, it’s a good idea to continue to use caution while driving over it.
