HOPE- With the Hope High School marching band having practices to prepare for the upcoming football seasons halftime performances along with fight songs, beginners are following in their footsteps. The Hope Band hosted instrument tryouts tonight, August 3. This was an opportunity for those who want to be in the band but have never played before to get an idea of what it is like. The beginners got to try instruments such as, the trumpet, clarinet, saxophone, percussion drum, and the flute. Band directors, Mrs. Gladden and Mr. Ellis helped each student test the instruments, teaching them how to hold and what types of sounds they should create. The Band House from Texarkana was present at the event to allow the students and parents to see what instruments they have to offer. The beginners look forward to starting the musical careers and playing on the high school marching band.
