Five advance to idol finals

HOPE -Fifteen hopefuls competed in the Watermelon Idol contest Thursday night at the Third District Coliseum, but only five made the cut.

The judges had a tough time making their decision as all of the acts were good. However, everyone couldn’t win, and these five will compete Saturday night at 6 at Hempstead Hall to see which of the survivors get to open for Joe Diffie.

The finalists, pictured left to right: Allyson Garner, Brady Rhodes, Kendall Laughard, DeShala Golden, and Aubri Johnson.
