Mrs. Joyce Dunn, of Hope, Arkansas, age 78 passed away, Friday, August 11, 2017 in Texarkana, Texas. Mrs. Dunn was born in Swifton, Arkansas on May 27, 1939 to Virgil and Lettie Hayes. She is a retired school teacher from Hope Public Schools, where she taught for 29 years, after teaching one year at Dardanelle Public Schools. She is a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hope and the Anna Manny Sunday School Class. She taught VBS and served on various committees and was member of the UMW Group II. She was also a member of the Theatre & English Club at ASU, member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Teacher Sorority, the PEO (Philanthropic Education Organization), and a member of the Arkansas Retired Teachers Association. She enjoyed playing Bridge, reading and just being with family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; Virgil and Lettie Hayes, her husband, Doyle H. Dunn, a brother; Sam Hayes and a sister; Mildred Whitley.

 

Survivors include; a son; Dean Dunn, his wife, Kim of Little Rock, AR, a daughter; Diana Bunel, her husband, Dr. Kirby Bunel of Texarkana, TX, a brother; Glen Hayes of Swifton, AR, her twin sister; Loyce Fowler of Jonesboro, her grandchildren: Kristi Cooper of Cabot, AR, Cole Dunn of Little Rock, AR, Meredith Bunel of Dallas, TX and Luke Bunel of Texarkana, TX, other family members and friends.

 

Visitation is one hour before the service starting at 2:00pm on Monday, August 14, 2017, at the First United Methodist Church.

 

Funeral service will be at 3:00pm on Monday, August 14, 2017 with Rev. Steve Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by BRAZZEL/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope, Eddie BRAZZEL, Director. Online register: www.brazzelfuneralhomes.com
