BLEVINS – A special meeting of the Blevins School Board was called for 5:30 p.m. Friday, but the lack of a quorum meant the meeting couldn’t occur.

Board member Laura Clark called the meeting to address the resignation of a bus driver. She told the packed house, which included a crew from KATV, and reporters from the Nashville Leader- News and the Hope Star.

However, only three members showed up. With a seven-member board a fourth was needed to open and hold the meeting. Clark told those who came she appreciated their being there and hoped for their continued support for the district. “There was only one item on the agenda,” she said. “The resignation for a bus driving situation.”

Carl McGill, one of the three members present, Shannon Peck being the third, asked for the public to keep doing what it’s doing and supporting the school.

Clark said the meeting will be rescheduled, possibly next week.
