Pageant deadline Thursday; record number already entered

PRESCOTT – It’s that time of the year and with the fair comes the pageants.

The dates have been set for Sept 14 at 6 p.m. for Infant, Baby, Tiny, Little and -Petite Miss and Sept. 16, at 6 p.m.  for Young, Junior Miss and Miss Contest. This year’s pageant already has a record number of entrants at 36. So far 20 have been entered in Thursday’s pageants, with 16 entered in Saturday’s event, according to pageant coordinator Stacy Jester.

Infant-Young Miss contestants will compete in evening dress only. The Junior and Miss Nevada County contestants will compete in sportswear/swimwear, private interview and evening gown.

You must be a resident of Nevada County or attend a school within Nevada County. This pageant is not an open pageant.

Each contestant is encouraged to ride in the fair parade which will be held on Tuesday, Sept 12, at 6 p.m.  The theme for this year’s fair is Happy 80th Birthday Nevada County Fair.
