FLU DONATON 005PRESCOTT – Members of the staff at Prescott Manor donated flu supplies to Prescott Elementary School Friday afternoon.

Director of Nursing, Samantha Gummeson, said this was done to help prevent the spread of flu this year. The donation included: handiwipes, hand sanitizer, facial tissue, bleach wipes and soaps. The idea for the donation came from the home’s infection control staff. The supplies will be used as needed to help the students remain healthy and in school, so they don’t miss classes due to illness from the flu.

The Nevada County Health Unit will be at PES all day on Oct. 5 for a school flu clinic. Flu forms are available in the PES office for parents to fill out and have their child(ren) return. This year’s form is simpler than those in past years, as everyone will be receiving the same vaccine and there will be no flu mist.
