Mr. Denny Dickinson

Mr. Denver L. (Denny) Dickinson, age 74 of Guernsey, Arkansas passed away, Wednesday, September 20, 2017 in Texarkana, Texas. Denny was born October 7, 1942 in Hope, Arkansas to Denver and Muriel Dickinson. He was a 1960 graduate of Hope High School, a longtime poultry and cattle farmer and a tireless worker for his family and the Guernsey community. He was a former co-owner of the Hope Livestock Auction and the Owner of Dickinson Realty in Hope. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hope, member of the Hope School Board, member of the Hempstead County Cattleman’s Association, a former member of the Hempstead County Farm Bureau Board of Directors. He helped organize the Guernsey Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as the Fire Chief and he served on the Board of Directors of the Natural Resource Conservation Service.
Survivors include; his wife, Kathryn Coleman Dickinson of Guernsey, two daughters; Jan Dickinson McKinnon, husband, Randy of Guernsey and Amanda Beck of Greenville, SC; Son; Rusty Beck of Conway and his fiancé, Brooke Gregory of Arkadelphia, his sister; Sherry Chandler, husband, Kelley of Lonsdale, grandchildren; Brad McKinnon, wife, Alice of Guernsey, Jordan Jones, husband, Jacob of Hope and Carlie Beck and Ramsey Beck of Guernsey, great-grandchildren: Jaycee and Erin McKinnon, Jenna and Jett Jones, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to: Muriel Dickinson Delta Kappa Gamma Scholarship Fund C/O Diana Keith 504 Columbia Circle Hope, AR 71801. A scholarship fund is being established in Denny’s memory to be awarded to a graduating member of the Hope FFA Chapter. An account has been established at Farmer’s Bank. Visitation will be Friday, September 22, 2017 between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00pm at BRAZZEL/Oakcrest Funeral Home 1001 South Main Hope, AR.
Funeral service will be 10:00am, Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the First Baptist Church 3rdand Main Hope, AR. with Bro. Daniel Bramlett and Bro. Jake Vandenberg officiating.
