Nomination letters Deadline Set

HOPE – Letters of nomination from residents of Hope Public Schools Board Zone 6 interested in serving the remainder of an unexpired board term are being accepted in the office of HPS Superintendent Bobby Hart.

The HPS Board set an Oct. 16 deadline for the receipt of letters from qualified voters of the zone formerly represented by Denver “Denny” Dickinson of Guernsey. The unexpired term was created by the passing of Dickinson on Sept. 20 in Texarkana.

Under Arkansas school law, the board has 30 days from the creation of an unexpired term to fill a vacancy, according to Hart.

He said letters of nomination should be submitted to his office at 117 E. Second St., Hope, Ark., 71801, before the close of business on Oct. 16.
