PRESCOTT – “Stand Strong and Get Your Pink On”, an event for Breast Cancer Awareness and Education, will be held on Saturday, October 28, at the Prescott High School cafeteria at 10 a.m.

Dr. Dana Abraham, Little Rock oncologist, will be the speaker. She will address various issues concerning breast cancer and then answer questions from attendees. A brunch will be served. There will be entertainment from the Prescott Elementary School choir and Prescott High School’s Cade Haynie.

A special invitation is being extended to all breast cancer survivors for a special recognition. There will also be a memory table for those who have succumbed to cancer. Everyone is asked to bring pictures of loved ones for the table.

Those attending the event are asked to wear pink. PHS EAST will have a photo shoot available. There will be lots of door prizes and giveaways. The Nevada County Cancer Association (NCCA) will have a resource table at the event. The NCCA assists cancer patients in Nevada County with transportation and in other various ways. Donations may be made to NCCA during this event.

This is also a parental/community involvement event for Prescott School District. There will be tables concerning the school and students’ achievements in a designated area. Some school personnel will be available to answer questions.
