Arkansas’ Night In set

What:

Arkansas Adult Education will host Arkansas’ Night In, a simultaneous open house at its 36 adult education centers around the state to raise awareness about adult education programs and the success of those who have completed a program. Students and graduates of Adult Education programs will share their stories of success as well as business owners who employ graduates.

 

Who:

  • Arkansas Adult Education Division of Arkansas Department of Career Education
  • Dr. Charisse Childers, director, Arkansas Department of Career Education
  • Dr. Trenia Miles, deputy director, Arkansas Department of Career Education, Adult Education Division
  • Arkansas Adult Education students and graduates

 

When and Where:

  • Wednesday, November 8, 2017
  • 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
  • Adult Education Centers statewide

 

Why:

More than 36 million American adults struggle to read, write, do math, and use technology above a third grade level. In Arkansas, 528,611 or 18% of the population need Adult Education and training. Adult education graduates are more likely to be employed full-time and minimum wage workers increased wages by 18 to 25 percent within 18 months of exiting an adult education program.
