Hope City Board Meeting

The Hope City Board gathered Tuesday November 7th for their first meeting but did not have a quorum. Four members were out. Two had planned to be gone and one was sick.
City Manager Catherine Cook told those present about a video shoot for Christmas Open House. She also mentioned the meeting with a representative from Main Street Arkansas at 5pm Thursday at the LaGrone-Graves room on the 2nd floor of BancorpSouth.
Police Chief and Assistant City Manager J.R. Wilson gave an update on the efforts to get a city flower bed ready for Christmas decorations. Some electrical boxes will be installed at a cost of less than $1,000. Chief Wilson also talked about the Christmas decorating contest sponsored by the City Beautification Committee. Chief Wilson said they will work with the Boy Scouts and Les Patterson to install the lights on November 18th.
Beautification Committee member Steve Atchley said the committee would like to help beautify the area around Hope City Hall.
The agenda Tuesday included four items including a request from the Klipsch Museum from Jim Hunter, consideration of a grant application for a credit card reader system for the airport fuel system, consideration of fuel brands for the Hope Airport, and consider the submission of an airport capital improvement program.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for November 21st.
