“Stuff the Box” donations sought

PRESCOTT – Donations are being sought for the “Stuff the Box” program.

This program is being sponsored by the Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce. Its goal is to provide 250 gift boxes to the county’s children at Breakfast with Santa Saturday, Dec. 9. These boxes will be filled with practical items, such as socks, gloves, personal hygiene supplies and school supplies. However, they will also contain a trinket for the youngsters as well.

“As a Chamber,” Jamie Hillery, executive director of the Chamber, said, “our goal for this holiday season is to spread more ‘Christmas cheer’ throughout our community.” Anyone interested in making a donation to the program can do so by dropping a check, made payable to the Chamber, off at the Chamber office, or dropping off supplies at the Chamber.

“This program,” she said, “has provided many local families with the necessities for day-to-day living in addition to giving them a Christmas to remember.”
