Residential Burglary
On Monday November 13, at 11:17 A.M. Deputy Keith Sullivan responded to a reported break in at a residence at 4643 Highway 29S. I arrived at 11:30 and met with the resident, and his wife.
The victim said he came home from work around 9:45 A.M. and when he went to his bathroom he discovered a broken window. He said that he also found his safe had been opened and $500 was missing. The victim’s wife also said jewelry items were missing from a jewelry box located in the same closet as the safe. The victim’s wife said she was the last on to leave the residence, and that she left at 7:30 A.M.
A door adjacent to the garage door was also found unlocked. Both victims said the wife’s father, had stayed at their residence on November 1- 3, and was at the residence alone for several hours each day.
Victim said he received an email on November 2 from Capital One credit card company his credit card was attempted to be used for a straight talk phone, he also said the card had been in his bedroom night stand.
The incident is currently under investigation.
Terroristic threatening.
On November 13, at approximately 1:10 p.m., Deputy Malone was dispatched to the Hempstead County Sheriff’s Office regarding terroristic threatening.
Upon arrival he made contact with the victim who stated that he was at a rent house at 4473 Hempstead 3 working on it. He stated that his neighbor, who lives at 4483 Hempstead 3 came over to his rent house and was ranting and raving about several different things.
Victim stated the neighbor was cussing a lot, the victim stated he told the neighbor he needed to get off of his property. Victim stated the neighbor then became irate and began cussing at him and stated he had a gun and knows how to use it.
Victim stated a friend was at the residence with him during the incident and witnessed what the neighbor said. The victim’s friend stated the neighbor became so irate he believed he was going to go and get a firearm and use it on them.
The victim stated he escorted the neighbor to the property line. The victim stated all he did was walk beside his neighbor and talk to him, and the neighbor went back to his residence, and the victim and his friend left the residence.
Victim stated he did not want to pursue charges against neighbor for terroristic threatening. Instead the victim he wanted the neighbor to be given a criminal trespass warning.
Deputy Malone then went to 4483 Hempstead 3 and made contact with the neighbor. Deputy Malone advised the neighbor the victim did not want him back on the property. The neighbor advised he understood.
Harassment
On November 14, at approximately 2:05 p.m., dispatch advised Deputy Malone of a name and number regarding harassment in Fulton.
Upon making contact with the caller he stated he received a phone call from a number out of Pakistan 393-937. Caller stated he answered the call and the person started describing his wife, kids, house, animals, and his truck.
He stated the person described when and what he took his wife for lunch, and where his kids went to school. Caller stated all the information the person told him was accurate. He stated the person told him that they were with ISIS and started telling him there were going to be a lot of attacks on the U.S.A. before January 1, 2018.
Caller stated they named cities where the attacks were going to happen such as New York, Los Angeles, Florida, New Orleans, and Washington, D.C. He said the person told him the Anti-Fascist Group, Antifa, are their soldiers in America, and said we need to enjoy our technology while we can because we would not have it after January 1.
Caller stated he had already contacted the FBI and gave them all the information he had. Deputy Malone attempted to contact the phone number the caller provided 393-937. An automated voice recording stated the number had been disconnected.
Domestic Battery
On November 14, at approximately 3:09 p.m., Deputy Malone was dispatched to 3581 Highway 355 South regarding an assault.
Upon arrival he made contact with the 45-year-old female victim who stated she met her new boyfriend on an online dating site. She stated she has known him for six days.
Victim stated she has moved into the boyfriend’s camper with him at 3485 Highway 355 South. She stated today her boyfriend got angry with her and said she was lying to him. She stated when she asked him what she was lying about he stated everything and she was saying he was lying also.
Victim stated the suspect who was identified as William Rowe, 46 of Hope, punched her on the right side of her face with his left hand then on the left side with his right, and again on the right side with his left and once more on the left side with his right fist.
Victim stated Rowe hit her on the back of her head which created knots on the back of it. She stated Rowe hit her with something on her right thigh. The victim stated Rowe then dragged her by her feet down the stairs of the camper. She stated she started screaming very loudly until Rowe stopped assaulting her, and she left walking down Highway 355 South. She stated Rowe left soon after in a red Chevrolet S10 Blazer type vehicle.
Deputy Malone observed the victim had several bruises on the back of both of her arms. The bruises on the back of her arms appear old, but Katherine stated they were made by Rowe today. Deputy Malone observed the victim had bruises on her right jaw. She had a bruise on her right forearm that was swollen. She had three bruises on the inside of her right forearm. A small bruise under her jaw on the left side on her face. A bruise on the back of her left shoulder. A scrape on the left side of her lower back, and a bruise on her right thigh. I took pictures of these injuries and they will be attached to this report. I went to 3485 Highway 355 South to see if Rowe was home. He was not. I allowed Katherine to get her clothes from the camper, and then left the residence.
Deputy Row discovered that Rowe had a felony warrant with Hempstead County.
Deputy Malone was passing by Hope in Action 2 on Highway 67 West in the 2500 block, and observed a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle that Rowe was supposed to be driving. Malone went to Hope in Action 2 and made contact with Rowe Rowe.
Deputy Malone took Rowe into custody for Domestic Battery 3rd degree 5-26-305, and advised dispatch to make sure the felony warrant was valid.
Deputy Malone then transported William to the HCDF and wrote him a citation for Domestic Battery 3rd degree 5-26-305 with a court date of December 4, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. Deputy Malone also served Rowe’s felony warrant on him 29CR-16-207-2. Rowe was then released to the custody of the on-duty jail staff for booking.
Theft
On Tuesday, November 14, at approximately 9 p.m., Deputy Brown received a call from the police dispatcher in reference to a theft, located at 3498 Highway 174 S, in Hempstead County.
Upon arrival he met with Robin Kidd who stated someone has stolen her tiller. Kidd stated sometime over the weekend her red CRT 400 tiller was stolen from under her carport. She stated it was just noticed today, but over the weekend is when they were gone to ball games and stuff.
She stated the tiller cost approximately $700 and she bought it from Walmart. She did not have the serial number at this time, but will try to find it. She stated it was sitting right underneath her carport when it was taken She stated during the theft, there was a trash can that was knocked over at the side of the residence leaving the carport.
Impersonation of Police Officer
On November 14, at approximately 9:56 a.m., dispatch advised Deputy Malone of a name and number regarding someone impersonating a police officer.
Upon making contact with the 25-year-old female victim she stated she was traveling East on Highway 73 East at approximately 6:10 p.m. on November 13. Victim stated that she passed Hempstead 105 and saw a white Crown Victoria parked on Hempstead 105 facing Highway 73 East.
The victim stated the vehicle pulled out behind her and activated blue lights. Victim stated she pulled her vehicle to the side of the road and a younger white male subject came to her window of her vehicle, and told her “Ma’am you know you’re supposed to turn your blinker on when going around a curve.
Victim stated he then asked for her driver’s license. Victim stated she gave the male subject her old driver’s license, and the male subject went back to his vehicle for approximately 3-4 minutes. Victim stated the male subject then came back to her window and gave her license back and stated he was giving her a verbal warning.
Victim stated that the male subject has dark hair, average height, and had a black jacket on with a spot for a name tag. Victim stated he did not have a name tag on but did have a gold pin on his jacket. Victim stated she did not see a badge She stated she has never seen the male subject before, and he did not act like he knew what he was doing. Victim stated the vehicle the male subject was driving is a white Crown Victoria has a spotlight, and the only blue lights on the vehicle was a strip of blue lights at the top of his windshield.
The incident remains under investigation.
Harassment
On November 14, at approximately 9:10 a.m., Dispatch advised Deputy Malone of a name and number regarding harassment.
Upon Making contact with the 28-year-old victim by phone she stated a man named, with whom she had a relationship who lives at on County Road 14 has been harassing her.
Victim stated she had a sexual relationship with the man two time’s during the summer of 2017. Victim stated the man contacted her on Snap Chat and told her he had a video of them having sex, and has showed it to his brother.
Victim stated she and the man got into an argument on Snap Chat, Victim stated she does not know if he actually does have a video or not. She stated she has a fiancé now and man is mad because she will not come to see him. The victim stated she has blocked the man on Snap Chat, and he has not contacted her since.
When asking the victim if she wished to press charges against the man for Unlawful Distribution of Sexual Images or Recordings 5-26-314. The victim asked if she would have to go to court. Deputy Malone advised her she would. The victim asked if her fiancé would find out about the incident. Deputy Malone advised her he was unsure if he would.
The victim advised Deputy Malone she might have messed up by calling the Sheriff’s Office, and stated she did not wish to file a report and she was just going to change her phone number and block the man from all of her social media.
Forgery/ Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
On Tuesday November 14, Deputy Sullivan was at Foster Farms at 383 Highway 174 N at about 7:45 A.M., for the purpose of arresting Amy R. Creek for the offense of forgery. Deputy Kyle Malone was assisting with the arrest.
While handcuffing the suspect, Creek, she had her hand in her right front coat pocket. I told her to remove her hand from the pocket. She refused and Deputy Sullivan removed her hand from the pocket. She was holding a glass methamphetamine pipe in her hand and the pipe was partially wrapped in a paper towel. Creek eventually dropped the pipe on the ground and it broke into several pieces.
Deputy Sullivan handcuffed Creek, and checked in her coat pockets for other evidence. Deputy Malone recovered the broken pipe and placed it in an evidence bag. Deputy Sullivan located three cigarette boxes in her left coat pocket, one of the boxes contained several cotton swabs. Creek was arrested for drug paraphernalia as well as the forgery charge. Creek was transported to the HCDF to await a first appearance.
Harassment
At approximately 1:40 p.m. on November 15, Deputy Barnhill was dispatched to the Hempstead County Sheriff’s Office in reference to harassing communication.
Upon arrival she made contact with a 31-year-old female who stated her ex-boyfriend, has been texting and calling her and she wanted him to leave her alone. Deputy Barnhill asked the victim several times if she could give me specific things he has said and she was unable to.
She stated she feels like she is in danger because her ex-boyfriend is unstable. She stated she really just wants him to leave her alone. Deputy Barnhill advised the 31-year-old victim on how to get an order of protection against her ex-boyfriend. She stated she understood and would get one as soon as possible.
