George Howard “Doc” Haynie

George Howard “Doc” Haynie, age 85, of Hope, AR passed away Friday, December 8, 2017 in Hope, Arkansas. Doc was born August 13, 1932 in Prescott, Arkansas to Thurman and Glenden Cox Haynie.

George was a retired coach, Principal and Superintendent of schools, with 30 years of service. He and his wife Mary Lee did extensive traveling before he became ill.

He is preceded in death by his parents and the mother of his children Jerri Haynie.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lee Martin Haynie; five sons, Howard of Plain Dealing, LA, Gerald of Dardanelle, AR, Jeff of Camden, AR, Jim of Tyler, TX, and George of Prescott, AR; one sister, Joyce Tyree of Prescott, AR; one brother, Earl Wayne Haynie of Prescott, AR; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the New Hope Baptist Church 3725 Hwy 273 West, Hope, AR 71801.

Service will be held 2:30pm Monday, December 11, 2017 at Liberty Nazarene Church of Prescott, Arkansas with Bro. Neal Ridling officiating under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Homes of Hope, Arkansas.
