Bicentennial Committee Meets

Hempstead County will be 200 years old in December of 2018 and a group has been formed to plan events to celebrate the milestone. The group met Tuesday January 9th for their first meeting of the new year. The committee got a look at the new Oakhaven Bicentennial Calender which Mayor Troy Lerew just received. The group discussed shortening their mission statement and also discussed sponsorship structure. The group also discussed projects for any surplus funds left over after the observance. Anyone is welcome to the monthly meetings and you can contact any committee member for information.
