Mrs. Laquila Santana Porter transitioned from her earthly life to her eternal heavenly home on March 21, 2018 at Wadley Regional Medical Center in Hope, Arkansas. She was born on March 12, 1985 to Martha Wingfield and Clifford Morrison in Hope, Arkansas. Laquila gave her life to Christ at an early age at Greater Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Hope, Arkansas. Laquila graduated from Hope High School in the year of 2003. In 2011, after eight years of beautiful love and pure happiness and a beautiful daughter and a handsome son, she married her best friend, Joseph Lee Porter. In this union they were blessed with a son.
Laquila had a smile and spirit that could light up a room. She had the biggest heart that you could ever know. She loved her children, all children. Her dream was to one day open up a daycare full of babies. She constantly spoke highly of her babies at ROC. She loved all her ladies. She has always spoken of her Class of 2003. She reminded us that “no class was better.” When she departed this life she was employed at Wendy’s. Laquila told us that work with children and customer service was her calling. With such a beautiful, small and sweet spirit, we know she was right. Laquila had graduated UAHT with her certificate in CNA. She received her CCOT training through ROC. Laquila loved her Greater Hope Missionary Baptist Church Family. VBS, Sunday School, singing in the choir were a few things that she did over time at Greater Hope MBC. If you knew her, you couldn’t help but to love her.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Cora Lee, and grandfather, James (Gerthine) Wingfield; her paternal grandfather, Ledelle “Blue” Morrison; her big mamas, Louise Morrison and Ellaree Lane.
She leaves to cherish her memories a loving husband, Joseph L. Porter; one daughter, Kezhane Porter; two sons, Josiah Porter, Zyion Porter; a loving mother, Martha Wingfield; her father, Clifford Morrison; her mother and father-in-law, Patricia Porter and Winfield Porter; two sisters, Lakelia (William) Brown, Londa (Jeron) Hardiman; one brother, Paris Lane of Los Angeles, California; two grandmothers, Pearle Mae Parshon of Toledo, Ohio, Betty Morrison; three brothers-in-law, Anthony (Erica) Brown, William (Lakelia) Brown, Michael Brown; nine nieces, Khloee Robinson, Haylee Hardiman, Katiya Brown, Akeelah Brown, Destiny Brown, Kimmy Lane, Shariy’ah Lane, MaKylah Brown, Makayla Brown; three nephews, Jeron Hardiman, Jr., Anthony Brown, Jr., Paris Lane, Jr.; her godmother, Dr. Linda Clark; one godsister, Osheonna Jonson; one special friend of 25+ years, Lekeshia Williams.
