Heather Manor Kicks Off National Nursing Home Week

HOPE – Heather Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation kicked off their annual observance of National Nursing Home Week Monday May 15th with a balloon lift-off.

The staff and residents gathered outside and released dozens of balloons while enjoying Jerome Underwood and Mark Keith singing “I’ll Fly Away”. Earlier that day the residents had celebrated with a special waffle and sausage breakfast.
Heather Manor has a full week of activites for National Nursing Home Week. Tuesday May 16th the residents will enjoy an ice cream social with sundaes and banana splits with entertainment by Paul Hollowell. Wednesday May 17th the residents enjoy a special brunch and all day bingo. Later in the day they will enjoy nachos and frito pie. Thursday Heather Manor has a special Community Coffee social from 9:30am until 11am and the public is invited. Friday May 19th the residents and employees will enjoy a cook out.
During National Nursing Home Week, the public is encouraged to visit their friends and relatives in our nursing homes and to make plans to visit often in the coming year. Anyone who is interested in being a volunteer with music or activities at Heather Manor can contact the Activities Director at 777-3448.
