Garrett Memorial Graduation

HOPE- The Garrett Memorial Christian School of Hope hosted their graduation ceremonies for the senior class of 2017 yesterday 21, of May. Tables lined the walls with memorabilia of each of the graduating seniors. The tables contained images of their childhood memories along with some of the memories that they made while in school such as sporting events, or academic success. Shelley Keith provided special music for the nights ceremony followed by Mark Keith giving the class charge. Valedictorian, Mary Katherine Martin gave a speech followed by salutatorian speeches from Morgan Brooke Peek, and Shelby Alexandra Hall. While images on of the graduates were played on the screen above the stage the seniors did a special rose presentation, distributing roses to those who have had the biggest impact on their lives throughout the years, such as parents, grandparents, close friends, and even teachers. Lily Beth Formby gave a speech over their past weeks mission trip that the seniors got to experience. The graduating class went to serve at Give Kids the World in Florida; this is a place where families from around the world that have children with life-threatening illnesses can go to have a memorable experience at no cost. Administrator, Jimmy Walker along with School Board President, Danny Lauterbach presented the graduates with their diplomas, the Student Pastor Chris Vines gave the closing prayers for the ceremony. Danny Lauterbach presented the graduating class of 2017. A reception was held afterwards with finger foods and drinks for family and friends to enjoy while visiting with their graduating senior.

3.70-3.89 GPA Magna Cum Laude (With Great Honor): Shelby Alexandra Hall, Mary Katherine Martin, Morgan Brooke Peek, Jacklyn Grace Wingfield

3.90-4.00 GPA Summa Cum Laude (With Greatest Honor): Lily Beth Formby
