Domestic Battery
3rd Degree
On June 19, at approximately 2 a.m., Deputy Brown received was dispatched to an altercation that already occurred between husband and wife, located at 876 Hempstead 14, in Washington.
Upon arrival, he met with Angela Johnson and immediately noticed her lip was bleeding. Deputy Brown asked Johnson what happened to her lip and she stated everything was fine, that it was just a misunderstanding.
Her husband, Johnny Johnson appeared to be very intoxicated, could not stand and it was very hard to understand him. While speaking with him, Deputy Brown observed a scratch above his right left eye and right arm. Both marks were bleeding. Deputy Brown asked him what happened between him and his wife. He began crying and stated he did not know what happened and did not remember being in an altercation with her.
Deputy Brown spoke with her again and she continued to state everything was fine and she did not need the police anymore, During the conversation with her, she finally stated she and her husband were asleep in the bed together and she did not want him to sleep in the bed, because they were in an argument. She told him to go sleep on the couch. He said no, he wanted to sleep there and then elbowed her in the nose. She stated when he elbowed her, she slapped him and contacted the police department.
Due to the circumstances surrounding the couple’s health, both were arrested, issued citations on scene for Domestic Battery 3rd degree with a court date of Aug. 21 at 9 a.m. and released.
Domestic Battery
On June 18, at approximately 10:45 a.m., Deputy Jeremy Mc Bride was dispatched to 105 Hempstead 248 in reference to a domestic disturbance in progress.
Upon arrival, he spoke with the 15-year-old victim. who stated he was asleep in his bed and his brother, 20-year-old Justin Laudermilk woke him up. The 15-year-old stated Laudermilk said something to him about his father and 15-year-old stated he did not want to talk to him. The 15-year-old stated Laudermilk got mad and started pushing him. The 15-year-old stated he grabbed a knife and put it behind his back, so Justin would back away. The teen stated Laudermilk came at him again and he dodged the punch, but thought that he cut his brother with the knife. The 15-year-old stated he dropped the knife and called 911.
Laudermilk stated he went to wake up his 15-year-old brother to speak with their father on the phone. He stated their father is in ICU in Little Rock with heart problems and did not know if he would live much longer. Laudermilk stated he got mad at his brother for not talking to their father. He stated that he pushed his 15-year-old brother; and then they got into a physical altercation. He stated his brother grabbed a knife and put it behind his back.
He stated his brother never attempted to stab or cut him with the knife. He that he pushed his brother and his finger went inside his mouth. He stated that his brother attempted to get his finger out of his mouth, but had the knife in his hand still. Laudermilk stated his brother thought he cut him; and he dropped the knife, he stated he did not want to pursue charges on his brother. He stated that he was just scared and was not trying to harm him.
Deputy Mc Bride took the teen into custody for domestic battery 3rd and transported him to the Hempstead County Detention Center, where he was booked in. Mc Bride issued him a citation for Domestic Battery 3rd 5-26-305, with a court date of August 7, at 9 a.m.
Vandalism
On June 18, at approximately 9:50 p.m., Deputy Malone was dispatched to 105 Hempstead 248 in reference to someone trying to beat down the front door to that residence.
Upon arrival, he made contact with a 15-year-old male and his friend both stated that in a span of 10 minutes the front door to their residence was hit extremely hard twice. The 15-year-old stated he did not hear anything the first time the door was hit. However, his stated the first time the door was hit it sounded like someone threw a rock at it. The friend stated the second time the door was hit it was louder and harder than the first time. Like someone kicked the door, or slammed their shoulder into it. The 15-year-old stated the second time the door was hit it was so loud that it made him jump while he was in the kitchen.
Deputy Malone observed there was a dent in the white metal front door to the residence. Deputy Malone stated it appeared him that someone punched the door, because there are three small dents inside a larger dent. Damage to the door was valued at $80.
