HOPE- The Hope Walmart Supercenter hosted the LifeShare blood drive on June 20. Their goal is for this blood drive is to get at least 10 units of blood, but they hope to receive more by the end of the day. There is no perfect time to donate so whenever you can is the best time. You never know when a disaster will occur and someone love or yourself will be in the need of a blood donation.

The process takes about 45-60 minutes and the blood donation part is only 15 minutes of that time. The nurses will help to determine what will be the best donation process for you. You can do a whole blood donation process where your units of blood can help up to 3 patients with a single donation. You also have the option to do an automated blood donation where they get blood components most needed for patients, such as red cells, plasma, and platelets.

The clients that had come in throughout the day were new and some returning donors. A young man who had donated in the past came back again today to donate again. The last time that he donated he was informed that his blood had saved a life.

The next blood donation centers that will be occurring in the Hope area will be at the Church of Christ Hispanic Hope on June 25 from 12pm until 4:30pm, and then the Hope Cuffs and Hoses will be hosted on June 27 from 2pm until 7:00pm.
