The black metal fence surrounding the house that President Bill Clinton spent his early years in was damaged by a vehicle accident during the holidays.

The fence and home are part of the President William Jefferson Clinton Birthplace Home National Park on North Hervey Street in Hope.

A large section of the fence was bent over from an impact of a vehicle that was apparently traveling north on Hervey.

Neither the Hope Police Department or the staff at the Birthplace Home know who demolished their fence.

When the future president lived in the home his name was William Jefferson Blythe. He would become a Clinton a few years later after his mother remarried and his younger brother Roger was born.

Clinton’s father was killed in a traffic accident before he was born.
