Mr. Alfred Charles Johnson, 57, of Compton, California, formerly of Hope, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2012 in Compton, CA. He was born September 28, 1955 in Hope.
He was employed by the Long Beach Unified School District.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Johnson of Compton, CA; three daughters, Shamica and Tanishea Johnson both of Nashville, Taneeka Johnson of Dallas, TX; two sons, Alfred (A.J.) Johnson, Jr. and Dontae Johnson both of California; two stepchildren, Latasha and Quraan of California; five sisters, Lorene Galbert of Los Angeles, CA, Irene Stuart of Paramount, CA, Corene (James) Monk, Fana (Robert) White and Jacqueline McClure all of Hope; one brother, Joe Davis Johnson of New York City, NY; and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held 10 am-5 pm Friday, December 21, 2012 at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church at 1002 Beech Street in Hope. Interment will be at Cave Hill Cemetery in Hope.
