Grady Arnold, missing since March 28, 2012

A deer hunter found partial skeletal remains of a human being in northeastern Columbia County on Thanksgiving morning. The remains have been sent to State Crime Lab for identification and a possible determination of the cause of death.

It is possible – but not confirmed – that the remains may be those of Grady Arnold, 77, who has been missing from his home at 1757 Ouachita 2, Stephens, since March 28. His home was about six miles from where the remains were found.

Dental records will be examined and DNA tests performed to help with identification.

Sheriff Mike Loe said Saturday that the scattered remains were discovered off County Road 67, south of Arkansas 57. Arkansas 57 is the state highway between Stephens and Mount Holly, which cuts through the northeastern corner of Columbia County.
