Business as usual for BSB

BLEVINS – Laura Clark opened the meeting by having Steve Burke lead a prayer followed by the pledge.

The board reviewed the minutes from the Oct 10, 2018 meeting and a called meeting on Nov 1, the minutes where approved.

The board went over the financial statement, Stephanie Dixon went over the report in detail. A motion was made to approve the statement, it was passed unanimously. The school will have a Child Nutrition review in Dec. that is over the free and reduced price lunch program. The zone two school board seat currently held by Cindy Parks is up for reelection in May of 2019, and the seat held by Norma Muldrew is also up for reelection.

The school board heard from Ashley Davis on grant money that is going to be spent on new technology for the high school fine arts building. The schools mission statement rebranding was discussed and it was stated that it will be sent out to everyone in the school soon. The new mission statement as well as the new technology is part of the requirements for the high school to become title one.

The board took an executive session from 7:49-8:16 to discuss hiring Stephanie Riley as the interim business manager, it was approved and Riley was hired. Board members at the meeting were, Cindy Parks, Steve Burke, Chandra Dixon, Laura Clark, Stephanie Dixon, Janet Banister, and Norma Muldrew.
