Candlelight vigil in Hope for shooting victims

A candlelight vigil for the shooting victims at the Connecticut elementary school was held at St. John’s United Methodist Church in Hope Saturday evening.

Approximately two dozen people gathered in front of the church at 6 p.m. as Pastor Joe Miller read passages from Isaiah  Following the reading and a prayer by Pastor Miller, those attending took turns offering up prayers.

Twenty-eight candles and US flags were placed on the ground next to the building representing the number of people who died in the Friday morning shooting in Newtown, Connecticut.
