Mrs. Carolyn Joyce “Jo” Hicks, 66 of Columbus, Arkansas passed away, Monday, October 29, 2012 at her home in Columbus. Mrs. Hicks was born September 12, 1946 in Columbus, Arkansas to Roy and Etta Clayton Hawthorne. She was a home maker and a Baptist. She loved her flowers, cats, working crossword puzzles and listening to music. She is predeceased by her parents, brothers; Leroy, Garland and Robert Hawthorne and sisters; Lou Ella Perry and Louise Ray.
Jo is survived by her husband, of 46 years of marriage, James Lawson Hicks of Columbus, her two daughters; Reanna Key, husband, Jon and C.P. Hicks all of Columbus, Arkansas, her four brothers; Ed Hawthorne of Dierks, Doyle Hawthorne of Hope, Clayton Hawthorne of Guernsey and Tommy Hawthorne of McNabb, her two sisters; Norleen Griffin of Columbus and Henrietta Hendricks of Saratoga, one grandson; Richard Key and by several nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00pm, Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at Brazzel/Oakcrest The Funeral Home in Hope.
Graveside service for Mrs. Hicks will be 10:00am, Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Columbus Cemetery in Columbus, Arkansas with Bro. J. R. Wilson officiating. Burial to follow.
