A JW Logistics box truck out of Texas carrying packages for Hope residents from companies such as Amazon.com, Direct TV and bidz.com was destroyed in a Friday morning crash near Hope.
James Small of Shreveport was driving the International truck on Highway 73 East about three miles west of Hope around 11 a.m. when he veered off the north side of the highway hitting a driveway and becoming air-born. The truck almost flipped over before over before striking a group of trees and falling back upright on a barbed wire fence.
According to Arkansas State Trooper Kyle D. Peek, Small was out of the vehicle and walking around after the crash. He was transported to Wadley Regional Medical Center in Hope by Pafford EMS where he was treated and released.
No other vehicles or individuals were involved in the crash.
It’s not known how much delay this may mean for the packages on the truck. Some of the packages were torn open exposing their contents.
Trooper Peek assisted Bryan Christenson in the investigation of the accident.
