For the 20th consecutive year Emmet has held a Christmas parade. This year the community got lucky with good weather, though it was brisk for those who lined the streets to watch. Once the parade ended the festivities continued at the Chuck Wagon where Santa met with boys and girls of all ages to find out what they want for Christmas this year. Not all of the children, though, were happy to visit with Santa, as some of the younger ones teared up. There was plenty of hot chocolate, coffee and cookies for those who showed up. Emmet Mayor Dale Booker, and Anita Wicker, with the Emmet Vision Association, were presented plaques for the work they’ve done on the parade over the years.
