Fall Festival Firemen’s Water Ball Challenge

By Kevin McKinnon, 10/14/12 8:08 PM

A team from the Prescott Fire Department won the Firemen’s Water Ball Challenge Saturday afternoon during the Prescott Fall Festival and Trade Days. The contest has two teams attempting to force a ball suspended from a cable past a line on the other team’s side using the high pressure spray of a fire hose.

Competing for the traveling trophy were two teams from the Prescott Fire Department, two teams from Nevada  County Ambulance Service, a team from the Nevada County Rescue Unit and a team from the Emmet Volunteer Fire Department.

This was the second year for the water ball contest. The Prescott Police Department won the event last year.

Following this year’s tournament, children were allowed their turn with the fire hoses. Firemen supervise the children and turned the pressure on the hoses down significantly.

I’m working on more sets of photos and video from the Fall Festival. Keep checking back with HopePrescott.com.
