Farmers Bank NOT Leaving Hope

HOPE – Despite a number of rumors currently circulating the area, Farmers Bank is NOT leaving – they’ll simply be moving to a new facility, sooner or later.

Since the proposed sale of their Third Street facility to Hempstead County, rumors of the bank closing or leaving the area have been going around. During an interview with Paul Ball, President of the bank, he assured that these rumors are totally false.

“There never has been a question of leaving Hope,” Mr. Ball stated.

Plans are being drawn up for what the new main bank building requires, according to space needed and an improved drive-through. Once these plans are drawn and approved, the bank can begin to look for appropriate sites. Mr. Ball stated that they want to remain in the downtown area.

“Anytime there’s change, it’s difficult, ” Mr. Ball noted.

No staffing changes are anticipated and bank customers will continue to receive the excellent service as they receive now.

There is no immediate timeline for the new construction .
