Domestic Battery
On April 12, at approximately 10:05 p.m., Deputy Tuberville was dispatched to 1780 Hempstead 342 in reference to a domestic disturbance call.
He made contact with a female witness, who stated her brother and his girlfriend had a verbal argument that turned into a physical altercation.
Witness stated suspect struck the victim several times to the face and head area with his fist. Witness stated she tried to pull the suspect off the victim, but suspect would stop for a second then start back. The witness stated suspect assaulted the victim three times while the victim was lying on the ground.”
Witness stated when the victim came to she asked her to call 911, the suspect took off in an unknown direction as 911 was being called. Deputies were unable to locate the suspect and will seek warrants for the suspect for Domestic Battery.
Domestic Disturbance
On April 12, at approximately 8:33 p.m., Deputy Kyle was dispatched to 154 Hempstead 12 in reference to a domestic disturbance. While enroute to the call I was advised by dispatch the victims were headed to Wadley Regional Medical Center Emergency Room. Deputy Malone then went to Wadley to talk with the victim
Upon arrival, Malone made contact with the 40-year-old female victim, who said her son and his girlfriend had been living with her for three months. She said they moved out approximately a week ago. Victim said her son’s girlfriend texted her stating she left her jacket at her residence, and she was going to come by and get it.
Victim said she and the girlfriend got involved in a verbal argument over the jacket. The victim stated her son and girlfriend got out of the car and came at her, she stated the girlfriend swung at her, and she just remembers putting her hand up, and her son grabbed her by the neck.
Victim said that her daughter, who is 20 weeks pregnant, tried to break them up, and her son pushed her. Victim said girlfriend swung at her again, and her “got back on her”. She stated things were already heated anyway, because she told them they had to move out approximately a week ago. Victim said her son had her by the neck, and was trying to keep his girlfriend off of her, when her son pushed his pregnant sister again,
Victim stated they do not want to press charges, but they do not want her son or his girlfriend back at the residence.
Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree
On April 13, at approximately 9:15 a.m., Deputy McBride was dispatched to 3448 Highway 355 South in reference to criminal mischief and a verbal dispute.
Deputy McBride made contact Tinisha Muldrow, Indonesia’s mother. Muldrow stated Indonesia got upset with Deonte, because Deonte was talking to Indonesia’s friend; and Deonte had another girl he was talking to. Muldrow stated Indonesia attempted to jump on Deonte, but Muldrow stopped her. Muldrow stated Indonesia became mad and hit the windshield of Muldrow’s vehicle, with her fist. She stated after Indonesia hit the windshield it shattered across the passenger side.
Deputy McBride saw a large area of the windshield was damaged with an indentation of a fist in the windshield.
Indonesia, 19, was issued a citation for Criminal Mischief 2nd with a court date of May 15, at 9 a.m. and transported to the HCDF.
Suspicious Vehicle
On April 13, at approximately 7:13 p.m., Deputy Tuberville was dispatched to 3749 Hempstead 2 in reference to a suspicious vehicle call.
Upon arrival, he made contact with Bennie Johnson. Johnson stated when he left his property at 3 p.m.; he noticed a grey colored Chevrolet pickup truck. He stated the truck had a black flat bed with no tags, and was parked at the Saint Marks church that is lactated on his property.
He stated when he returned home at 8 p.m., he noticed the same truck parked in the same place. Bennie stated he was going to have the vehicle towed, but wanted a report made before having it removed from his property. Johnson stated he first thought the vehicle belonged to a tree trimming service that had been working in the area of Hempstead 2. Johnson took me to the area the vehicle was parked in at the church, but the deputy was unable to locate the vehicle at that time.
Possession of Controlled Substance and Warrant Service Assist
On April 13, at approximately 7 p.m., Deputy Malone was dispatched to meet with Investigator Jeremy Hendrix of the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office in reference to serving a felony warrant on Greg Daniels at 742 Hempstead 55.
Upon arrival, Deputy Malone made contact with Investigator Hendrix at the Eagles Nest in Emmet. Deputy Malone followed Investigator Hendrix along with other Nevada County Deputies and Deputy Matthew Tuberville to the residence named above.
Upon arrival, James Wilburn was found behind the residence. Investigator Hendrix placed him in handcuffs, and asked Wilburn where Daniels was. James told Investigator Hendrix, myself and Deputy Tuberville that he did not know where Daniels was. James stated Daniels ran into the barn when we pulled up.
Deputies searched a barn behind the residence for Daniels. Once Daniels was located. Deputy Malone and Deputy Tuberville located a small clear plastic baggy containing a clear crystal like substance, believed to be methamphetamine.
Daniels was turned over to Nevada County deputies and transported to the Nevada County Jail.
Deputies arrested Wilburn for Hindering apprehension or prosecution and for possession of a controlled substance and transported him to the Hempstead County Detention Center.
Furnishing Prohibited Articles to the jail
On April 13, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Deputy Tuberville was advised by Sergeant Cayman Cato of the Hempstead County Detention Center that he found two plastic baggies containing 10 Marlboro cigarettes inside of a Suave shampoo bottle.
Sergeant Cato advised me he took the property in at 8:30 p.m. from Heather Little for inmate an inmate and placed the white plastic bag containing the Suave shampoo on the desk in the Hempstead County book-in. Sergeant Cato stated he searched the shampoo container that was inside of the white plastic bag at 11 p.m. Sergeant Cato stated when removing the top of the Shampoo he noticed two clear plastic baggies sticking out of the container. Sergeant Cato removed the baggie’s, and found 10 cigarettes, five in each bag. Sergeant Cato advised me Heather brought the shampoo so an inmate could take it back with him to Arkansas Department of Correction.
Incident is under investigation
Permitting livestock to run at large.
On April 17, at approximately 9:46 p.m., Deputy Malone was dispatched to the 200 block of Little River Street Fulton, in reference to permitting livestock to run at large.
Upon arrival, I observed two horses and a donkey walking around the above-named location. I then made contact with Gary Smith at 212 Little River Street. I asked him if the livestock was his, and described them to him. He stated they were. I informed him he needed to get them put up.
Gary then went and retrieved his livestock, and put them back up.

Possession of Crack Cocaine
On April 17, at approximately 10:40 p.m., Deputy Tuberville was contacted by Sergeant Cayman Cato and Officer Eric Garner of the Hempstead County Detention Center in the deputy room of the Hempstead County Sheriff’s Office.
Officer Garner advised me Officer Hunter Halliday of the Hope Police Department bought a back female later identified as Myrna Scott into book-in. Officer Garner stated Officer Halliday asked for Inmate Scott to be searched due to him believing Scott was hiding narcotics on her person.
Scott kept asking for a blanket because she was cold, and Officer Garner gave her a blanket Scott quickly placed the blanket around her. Officer Garner stated Scott started to act as if she was trying to hide something. Officer Garner stated when taking Scott back to G-pod he advised Scott to walk in front of him. Officer Garner stated while Scott was walking a small clear plastic baggy fell from under the blanket Scott had around her containing two large white and one small white rock believed to be crack cocaine.
DWI
On April 19, at approximately 1:35 p.m., Deputy Mc Bride was dispatched to 271 Hempstead 278 in reference to a hit and run accident.
Upon arrival, he made contact with Daryl Scott. Daryl stated that he saw a black male, later identified as Adekunle Olafemiwa, pull out of the parking lot. Daryl stated that Olafemiwa was spinning tires and lost control. Scott stated the white Tahoe went onto Hempstead 278 and turned and went back onto the parking lot hitting a white Ford, Taurus. Scott stated that the white Tahoe then left and traveled East on Hempstead 278.
While getting Daryl’s statement, Deputy Keith Sullivan and Olafemiwa walked by me. I could smell a strong odor of intoxicant coming from Olafemiwa’s person. Deputy Sullivan then walked him to the front of his patrol vehicle and performed field sobriety test on him.
Olafemiwa then put attempted to pull his left arm from Deputy Sullivan. He was told to stop resisting and he complied. Deputy Sullivan placed hiom in the back of his patrol vehicle and transported him to the Hempstead County Detention Center.
He was arrested and booked for Driving While Intoxicated, Careless and Prohibited Driving, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, No Proof of Insurance. Disorderly Conduct and Refusal of B.A.C, with a court date of June 5, at 9 a.m.
Civil Dispute
On April 18, at approximately 6:16 p.m., dispatch contacted Deputy Malone with a name and number in reference to a civil dispute.
Deputy Malone made contact with the complainants after hearing both sides related to a vehicle purchase it was determined to be a civil matter and Deputy Malone referred both of the persons involved to the civil courts.
Animal Complaint
On April 18, at approximately 5:15 p.m., Deputy Tuberville was dispatched to 236 Hempstead 118 East in reference to an animal complaint call.
Upon arrival, he made contact with the female caller sho stated she noticed a white tail deer in her front yard, which was very friendly. Female stated the deer was not bothering anything she just thought she needed to report the deer seeing that it was so friendly.
Deputy Tuberville observed a whitetail deer that was walking around the woman’s front yard. The deer appeared to be healthy, and uninjured. Deputy Tuberville made contact with Arkansas Game and Fish Officer Dennis Hovarter by phone. Officer Hovarter advised Tuberville if the deer was uninjured, and not causing a threat to the land owner to leave the deer along.
Deputy Tuberville advised the caller what Wildlife Officer Hovarter said, and caller stated the deer was fine she just did not want to get into trouble for feeding the deer.
Medical Emergency
At approximately 6:10 p.m. on April 19, Deputy Sorensen was dispatched to Hempstead 9 in reference to a medical emergency. He was advised by dispatch that the caller, a female had stated that she believed her wife, had taken some pills.
Upon arrival Deputy Sorensen knocked several times before he got a response from inside the residence and made contact with a 39-year-old female who was slurring her speech but was cognizant of any question he inquired of her. Deputy Sorensen asked her if she had taken any pills and she stated she took several so that she could go to sleep. She stated she had taken three but she just did it so that she could sleep. Deputy Sorensen observed an empty bottle labeled “Quetiapine fumarate ” and prescribed to her on her kitchen table and when Sorensen asked her if that was what she took she stated that it was.
Pafford EMS arrived on scene and cleared the female medically. She denied ever trying to harm herself and was persistent that she was just trying to go to bed. Pafford EMS released female and advised her to go to bed and sleep off her medicine.
Alarm Call
On April 19, at approximately 3 p.m., Deputy Loe was dispatched to 3001 West Avenue B in reference to an alarm call.
Upon arrival, Deputy Loe checked all the doors and windows to the residence and observed them all to be secure. he observed no signs of any suspicious activity. Loe made contact with the homeowner, who stated that her Mother in law had accidentally set off the alarm attempting to leave the residence and that everything was ok.
Possession of Controlled Substance
On April 19, at approximately 5:15 p.m., Deputy Loe was contacted by probation and parole officers who asked for assistance in locating an absconder at 398 Hempstead 52 by the name of Christopher Marcum.
Upon arrival, Loe positioned myself at the rear of the residence in order to prevent any escape attempt by Marcum. Loe heard talking from the front of the residence and observed several people standing outside.
They advised that parole officers had entered the residence. Deputy Loe entered the residence in order to assist parole officers and observed them standing over Marcum, who was attempting to put on a pair of camouflage pants.
Officer’s then placed Marcum under arrest and after handcuffing him, began a search of the immediate area in the bedroom which he was located in. Upon a search of the room, officer’s located a small wooden box with clear tape along the edges. Officer’s opened the box and observed three syringes, one containing a dark liquid believed to be methamphetamine, two silver spoons with a crystal-like residue still on them, two glass pipes commonly used to smoke methamphetemine with a crystal-like residue still on them, two clear plastic bags with trace amounts of a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine, and two Nintendo DS games and a 4GB SD card.
Marcum was arrested and transported to the Hempstead County Detention Facility where he was booked in on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. And Parole/Probation Violations.
Suspicious Person Call
On April 19, at approximately 7:48 p.m., Deputy Loe was dispatched to 209 Ash Street in reference to a suspicious person call.
Upon arrival, he made contact with Florence Brantley who stated that while she was in her living room, she heard what sounded like a shotgun blasts coming from her attic. She stated she heard what sounded like BB’s falling and hitting solid wood.
With assistance from Deputy Sorensen, Deputy Loe climbed into the attic above the carport and searched with a flashlight in order to see any signs of a disturbance. Upon investigation, he found there to be no signs of any activity in the attic. Deputy Sorensen canvassed the area and was unable to locate any of the neighbors who report to have heard any gunfire coming from that area.
Deputy Loe advised Brantley they would patrol the area in order to try and catch any suspicious persons in the act.
Domestic Disturbance.
At approximately 11:30 a.m. on April 20, Sgt. Bush was dispatched to 7 Clingan Country Drive in reference to a domestic disturbance.
Upon arrival, he observed a white male working in the yard. When Sgt. Bush pulled up the male subject started towards the door of the house. Sgt. Bush asked what was going on and he advised Bush he and his wife got into an argument.
Deputy Bush then spoke with a female who stated her husband is bi-polar and did not take his medication. She stated he got upset when they were talking about the last time he went to jail. She said they then got into an argument over it.
Sgt. Bush asked the female if there was any physical contact between them and she would not answer Bush’s question. Sgt. Bush asked her if he hit her and she stated he didn’t. Sgt. Bush asked the female to see her arms and asked her to pull her hair back from her face. She complied but Bush did not see any marks or injuries. Sgt. Bush took a picture of Sabrina showing there were no visible injuries. I asked Sabrina if she felt safe in the house. She stated she does now that her husband has taken his medication.
Vehicle Blocking Roadway
At approximately 5:16 p.m. on April 20, Deputy Sorensen was dispatched to 3774 Hempstead 2 in reference to cars blocking the roadway.
Upon arrival, he observed two vehicles parked by the roadway in a fashion that traffic could still flow freely around them. Deputy Sorensen made contact with a person at the residence as he was the only subject that stated he knew English. Deputy Sorensen advised the male to let everyone know that they could not have people blocking the roadway or the vehicles would get towed. Person stated he understood and would make sure they parked in the field.
Harassing Communications
On April 20, at approximately 5 p.m., Deputy Loe was dispatched to 5228 Highway 67 West in reference to Harassing Communications.
Upon arrival, Loe made contact with a 29-year-old female who stated that an 18-year-old female had been posting things on her Facebook page and was sending her threatening messages.
29-year-old stated she and the 18-year-old both work at the Shelter Workshop. Loe was also approached by the 29-year old’s mother and was present for most of the harassment. The 29-year-old victim stated the 18-year-old had been threatening to punch her in the teeth and knock them out.
Suspicious Vehicle
Arrest of two Subjects on City Warrants
At approximately 8:54 p.m. on April 20, Deputy Sorensen was dispatched to 333 Hempstead 133 in reference to a suspicious vehicle.
Upon arrival, Sorensen made contact with Ruth Cook. She stated she got home and heard some people yelling and saw a dark truck drive down the log road by her house. She stated her family owns a house down it and she didn’t know if someone was messing around with it or not but she wanted them to be checked out. Sorensen drove down the log road on Hempstead 133 near the intersection with Hempstead 142.
Deputy Sorensen observed two vehicles parked on the road, a Black Ford F-150 as well as a white GMC Sierra, upon closer inspection, he observed the GMC appeared to be stuck up to its axles in mud. Sorensen made contact with the subjects in the GMC, Leon Nelson and Crystal Esada. Nelson stated they were going to Tina Jameson’s house and he thought the log road still went back by her house, he then told Esada to go down that road and she promptly became stuck in the muddy roadway.
They called Arlice Pettit, Justin Isley, and Amanda Pettit to come help them get out of the mud. Deputy Sorensen spoke with Arlice and he stated that he and Justin tried several times to pull the truck out with their winch but they were unable to.
Deputy Sorensen ran all subjects through central dispatch. Dispatch advised him that Justin Isley and Amanda Pettit had warrants with the city of Hope and HPD would like them placed in custody. Both Isley and Pettit were transported to the HCDF and turned over to HPD Sgt. Steward.
Sorensen made contact with the caller and advised her of the situation. She stated if she had any more problems she would call
Theft of Property
On April 24, at approximately 4:28 p.m., Deputy Loe was dispatched to 310 Hempstead 5 in reference to a theft.
Upon arrival, He made contact with Brett Trotter who stated he noticed several of his metal beams used for building material were missing. Trotter stated he had left his residence last Friday on April 21, and returned home last night at around 9 PM. Trotter stated he didn’t realize the metal items were missing until this morning when he went outside in order to start working on a new building.
Trotter stated that he had five 8-inch open C beams 20ft long, eight 8-inch C beams 20ft long, and eight 4-inch C beams 25ft long that were all laying in a pile in the grass in front of his shed.
Trotter stated that there were some other random metal pieces taken from his yard, but he wasn’t sure on the actual number of stolen items.
Breaking and Entering
On April 24, at approximately 5:21 p.m., Deputy Loe was dispatched to 412 Hempstead 217 in reference to a house that had been broken into.
Upon arrival, he made contact with Joyce Graves who stated she was watching the house for the current homeowner who lives in Colorado, Graves stated she drove by today in order to throw away some remaining trash that had been sitting underneath the carport and when she pulled up, noticed one of the windows was open.
Graves stated she called the owner, and asked if there was supposed to be any windows open, to which the owner stated there was not. Graves stated she exited the vehicle and checked the remaining doors and windows and initially reported them all to be secure. She stated there was a pack of ratchet sockets, and a pack of dremel bits that were laying in the carport that were not there the last time she was at the residence.
Deputy Loe did a walk around of the residence and noticed a side window that had been broken out and raised up and found tire track on the property. The investigation continues.
Harassment
On April 24, at approximately 7:10 p.m., Deputy Loe was dispatched to 500 South Elm in Hope in reference to harassment that originated in the county.
Upon arrival, he made contact with a 35-year-old female who stated a 36-year-old female had been texting her throughout the day and would not stop although she had repeatedly been asked. The victim stated the harassment had started back in January, and stopped for a while, but that at approximately 5 p.m. on April 24, it started back.
Victim stated other person began texting her from a number and that she eventually blocked the number.
Victim stated the harassment stems from the fact that she is now dating the 36-year-old’s ex-husband. Deputy Loe advised victim to block the remaining numbers, and to not respond to any messages she believes to be from the 36-year-old.
Domestic Assault
At approximately 11:20 a.m. on April 25, Sgt. Bush received a name and number to contact a female in reference to a domestic assault that occurred on 04/23/17 at 250 Hempstead 123.
Victim advised Bush on that date her boyfriend pushed her onto a bed after an argument. She stated their son started crying and she picked him up. Victim stated her boyfriend told her to put their son down. She stated when she wouldn’t he attempted to take him away from her and caused her bump heads with her son.
Victim stated she then tried to get away from him and he pushed her to the ground and put his knee in the middle of her chest and pressed down. Victim stated he let her up and locked her out of the house. Victim stated she then called the deputies for a civil standby. Deputy Tuberville responded.
Victim stated she did not report the incident to Deputy Tuberville but requested a civil standby. Victim stated she did not report it because she did not know if she had another place to go.
Victim advised Sgt. Bush she now wants to pursue charges on her boyfriend. Sgt. Bush asked the victim if she had any injuries at the time and she stated he did not cause any injuries to her.
Terroristic Threatening
At approximately 1:30 p.m. on April 25, Sgt. Bush was dispatched to 2778 Highway 355 South in reference to a terroristic threatening.
Upon my arrival, he made contact with the mother of a 17-year-old female juvenile. Who stated that her daughter was living in Texarkana with a 19-year-old female. She stated that they had an argument and her daughter left and the 19-year-old tried to run her off of the road with her vehicle in Texarkana.
The mother stated the 19-year-old came to her house. She went outside to talk to the 19-year-old and the 19-year-old threatened to “whoop her ass” and threatened to “whoop daughter’s ass” over her car. The mother stated that she told the 19-year-old to leave and she wouldn’t, so she called 911.
Found Property
At approximately 10:25 p.m. on April 25, Deputy Sorensen was dispatched to the 500 block of South Main in Blevins in reference to found property.
Upon arrival, he made contact with Jimmy Jordan, who stated he found a credit card lying in the road near his shop and he wanted to turn it in. He provided me with a Grey Wells Fargo credit card Deputy Sorensen contacted Wells Fargo and they stated the card number was no longer a valid account.
False Imprisonment
At approximately 7:39 p.m. on April 25, Deputy Sorensen was dispatched to 515 Highway 174 North in reference to a domestic disturbance.
Upon arrival, he made contact with female caller who stated she has been having problems with her 19-year-old son since he came back from California and has been gradually been getting more violent with his temper.
Caller stated the 19-year-old constantly argues and yells and is verbally abusive towards her. Today when she came home the 19-year-old started “griping” about something as soon as she walked into the kitchen. The caller told him she wished she could come home one day without him bugging her.
The 19-year-old then became upset and started yelling at her. The caller stated she was going to leave and went to get some clothes. The 19-year-old told her that was all she ever did was leave him. He then slammed the door to her room shut, locking her inside. The caller stated she attempted to open the door but was unable to. Caller stated the 19-year-old attempted to help her open it at first and said it was stuck. The 19-year-old then said she might as well stay in there if she couldn’t open it. After an unknown period of time the caller attempting to get out of the door she unblocked the back door to the room and crawled out and called 911. Her son ran out of the house. Caller stated she is mainly worried and wants her son to get some help.
Caller stated her son had been saying off the wall things to her like; he didn’t care what happened with his life because he “was going to burn anyway”. Caller stated she did not want to press any charges she just wanted him to get some help.
Deputies searched the area but was unable to locate the 19-year-old.
Probation revocation warrant and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
On April 25, at approximately 6 p.m., Deputy Loe was contacted by Hope Police Officer Dean who stated he observed Robert Gaines, who had a felony warrant for probation revocation warrant to be walking on South Elm headed towards South Pine.
Deputy Sorensen and Deputy Loe then arrived at the 400 block of West 7th Street in Hope where Officer Dean was standing with the Gaines already in handcuffs. Deputy Loe then took custody of Gaines and upon a search of him, discovered a small plastic bag containing a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana, a hand rolled cigarette containing a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana, and a pack of JOB brand cigarette rolling papers.
Deputy Loe then transported Gaines to the Hempstead County Detention Facility where he was booked in on the probation revocation warrant and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Welfare Check
On April 25, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Deputy Loe was dispatched to Highway 371 in Blevins in reference to a welfare check.
Upon arrival, he made contact with an adult female who did not know the reason he was dispatched to her residence. Deputy Loe informed the adult female that the Sheriff’s Office had received a call from someone in Florida stating someone who was approximately 16 at that address had been threatening suicide. The adult stated was her daughter and that she was perfectly fine. Deputy Loe asked if I could see the 16-year-old the adult female said she would go get her.
Deputy Loe made contact with the 16-year-old and asked why she stated she was going to commit suicide. The 16-year-old stated she was never going to actually do it, she was just angry that a boy kept harassing her on social media. Deputy Loe informed the 16-year-old there are other ways to handle harassment that don’t involve threatening suicide, and the 16-year-old stated she understood.
Pafford EMS arrived on scene and the 16-year-old once again stated that she was ok and did not need any medical attention.
Theft from a Vehicle
On April 25, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Deputy Loe was dispatched to 742 Hempstead 55 in reference to a theft.
Upon arrival, he made contact with Brianna Jones who stated that her boyfriend’s 1998 green Ford Explorer had been broken into. Jones advised her boyfriend, was currently incarcerated at the Hempstead County Detention Facility and had called her that night and asked her to check his vehicle to make sure his amplifier and speaker were still there.
Jones stated when she went outside to check the vehicle, she noticed the driver side door slightly ajar, but everything else appeared normal. She stated she then opened the door, and opened the rear door and noticed both the speaker and the amp were missing.
Once Deputy Loe returned to the Sheriff’s Office, he spoke with the vehicle’s owner in the Hempstead County Detention Facility in order to get more information on the stolen items. He advised Loe the amplifier was a silver Bose 1600 watt he paid approximately $200 for, the speaker was a Sony Xplode fitted in a particle board box that he made himself with camouflage wallpaper attached to it cost approximately $100. He stated he couldn’t remember what brand the radio was in the vehicle, but he got it from Wal-Mart for approximately $150. He also advised he had a gold chain hanging from his rearview mirror, and a 14K gold bracelet hanging from the visor he wasn’t sure were still there. Deputy Loe advised him when he spoke with Jones she wasn’t sure what was actually supposed to be in the vehicle and didn’t advise whether or not the necklace and bracelet had been taken.
Officer Assist
At approximately 10:25 p.m. on April 25, Deputy Sorensen responded to an active armed robbery call at 2605 North Hazel with the Hope Police Department.
Upon arrival, they were told the suspects had left prior to our arrival. Deputy Loe and I assisted in securing the scene and disseminating several witness statements. He then kept the rear of the crime scene secure until he was relieved by Sergeant Stewart
Residential Burglary
On April 26, at approximately 9 a.m., Deputy Mc Bride was dispatched to 100 Ogan Street in Fulton, in reference to a residential burglary. Upon arrival, I made contact with Karen Jackson. Jackson stated someone broke into Mary Clark’s residence. She stated she received a phone call from Clark; and Clark told her she received a phone call by an unknown caller, saying someone was trying to sell them a television without a cord.
Jackson and Deputy McBride walked to the West side of the residence to where a small window was broken. The window was shattered; and the window is approximately two-foot-wide by two foot tall. The window is located on a small porch next to a door. Jackson stated the screen door was open when she saw it this morning. She stated the wood door was opened approximately half an inch.
Jackson and McBride went into the house through a sliding glass door on the West side of the residence. Once inside, McBride saw that an entertainment center without a television.
After gathering information in the living room, he went to the front bedroom located on the Southeast side of the residence, he noticed an entertainment center missing a television and the top drawer of a night stand was open.
McBride checked the master bedroom located on the Northwest end of the residence. After entering the bedroom, he saw an entertainment center without a television.
Deputy McBride then spoke to Clark via telephone. She stated all three televisions were 45 inch. Clark stated two televisions were Samsung flat screens and the other was a Vizio flat screen. She stated she received a phone call from a unknown caller stating someone had attempted to sell them a television without a power cord. She stated the caller received her name and telephone number from the back of the television.
Deputy McBride located a power cord on Highway 355 South West of the residence.
Deputies know the identity of the person who attempted to sell the televisions and are actively looking for him. The matter is under investigation.
