HEALTHFAIR 005PRESCOTT – Despite wet, overcast conditions, the Health and Wellness Exposition was well attended Saturday.

The expo was moved from the Nevada County Courthouse Square to the Potlatch Building at the Nevada County Fairgrounds, as the threat of rain lingered. Patrons visited the various tables, learning about different health problems and how to combat them, as well as being screened for blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose levels. Those interested could talk about funeral planning, or register for the many door prizes, which included gift cards and a stroller. Items made by Prescott High School agriculture students were on display and sale, as were plants cultivated by the students.

A yoga demonstration proved to be popular as some were brave enough to attempt basic poses. Quite a few registered for possible classes. There was a booth for poison and suicide prevention, with displays showing how some drugs look like candy and can easily be mistaken by children.
