The swearing-in ceremony for elected county officials was held Wednesday morning in the courtroom of the Hempstead County Courthouse. Circuit Judge Randy Wright administered the oath of office just after 8 a.m. In addition to the officials, county deputies were also sworn in again.
Missing from the ceremony was County Judge Wallace Martin who is still recovering from bypass surgery. Martin returned home last Thursday and is receiving in-home therapy but is still too weak to return to work.
