Hope Lions Club recently rallied at the Fair Park Coliseum to fill and deliver more than 120 baskets of food to local families in need.
Baskets included canned vegetables, a frozen hen, a sack of potatoes, sugar, flour, meal, butter, fresh fruit, sweet potatoes, rice, bread rolls, jelly, dry beans, cake, eggs and a few other food items.
The food is purchased with monies from the recent and highly successful 67th Annual Hope Lions Christmas Auction.
Super 1 Foods of Hope assists in procuring the groceries.
After several hours of putting the baskets together, the Lions enjoyed a bite of lunch before making their deliveries.
