The Hope Tourism Commission met on April 11th.  The main topics discussed included the Juneteenth Celebration, 2024 Park project and current Park projects. Beckie Moore also gave thanks for the contribution to the PWK bash.
For the Juneteenth Celebration, Sylvia Brown talked about added events – the involvement of Historic Washington as well as the Mosaic Templar Cultural Center. She also asked for and received a $500 sponsorship of the event.
As to the 2024 Park project, Mayor Don Still focused on improving the soccer complex at the high school, the types of improvements, and what is being done to improve it.
Regarding the current park projects there were a few different themes – with the “Sparks Fly”  event on July 1st being an important one. The number of food trucks was a focus as there were not enough last year and more are lined up this year.
In the citizens request section, Beckie Moore gave an update on the Klipsch Birthday event.  She noted $26,000 was raised, the local hotels had good occupancy, attendees came from many different states , and restaurant sales were up.
